Spend the day learning to read the land. Join professional wildlife tracker and mountain lion researcher Phil Johnston for a hands-on workshop exploring the stories animals leave behind in the Eastern Sierra.

With over a decade of tracking experience and certification as a Senior Tracker through Tracker Certification North America, Phil will guide you through identifying tracks, sign, and subtle clues from the region’s most charismatic wild residents. Expect dirt under your boots, sharp eyes, and a deeper understanding of the landscape around you.

THIS WORKSHOP TAKES PLACE IN THE BISHOP OR BIG PINE AREA — EXACT MEETING LOCATION WILL BE EMAILED THE THURSDAY BEFORE THE EVENT

What to Know

  • Adults: $40 | Children: $15
  • You’ll be on your feet for the full workshop, often on uneven terrain
  • Dress in layers and wear appropriate footwear
  • Bring sun protection, water, and lunch/snacks
  • Registration required
